Cruise ship airline check-in

Copenhagen Airport is to introduce for the 2015 season a new facility which will allow cruise passengers to check-in on their ship for flights.  At the airport travellers can go straight to the security point.  The passenger’s luggage will be destination labelled, placed outside their cabin the night before, and then transported to the airport.  Collection is at the final point of the journey.

Says Claus Bødker, Network Director of Cruise Copenhagen: “This exciting new facility – approved by the Danish CAA – offers “hassle-free” travel for our cruise passengers, enhancing their cruise experience on arrival in Copenhagen.”

Whilst not completely new, several airports/operators offer a similar facility, in the United States, it is probably a first for European scheduled operations. P&O has a similar procedure with its charter flights, the whole exercise seamless.  (See also in this issue CRUISE NEWS and BTN 4 August 2014  www.cph.dk/en
