Last week the Airports Commission published two separate consultation documents.
Firstly it produced the seventh in a series of discussion papers. This called for evidence – “Delivery of new runway capacity” – and seeks responses on the issues which the Commission has identified as being of particular interest to the delivery of new runway capacity. The paper explores legal and planning issues surrounding runway capacity; engagement with local communities including compensation and mitigation; and the role of the State. It is seeking evidenced responses by Friday 15 August.
Also published is the first of a number of inner Thames Estuary study reports, this one called “environmental impacts”. A further three studies are due out next Thursday (10 July).
The Airports Commission will make a decision on whether to add an inner Thames Estuary option to its shortlist by September 2014.
In relation to these studies it is inviting responses in relation to two questions by Friday 8 August:
Is there information in the reports which is factually inaccurate?
Is there any new information or evidence that you wish us to consider before it making our decision?
