It has now been confirmed that the new Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Department for Transport (see BTN 14 October) Robert Goodwill MP (Conservative) will open the proceedings.  A farmer, he was on the Transport Select Committee for 18 months and known as a Eurosceptic.

The first day of the gathering features three sessions “The Industry Challenge” with speakers including Jim French, Chairman of Flybe); Dale Keller, Chief Executive of BAR-UK; and Laurie Price, an industry consultant and the former Aviation Adviser to the House of Commons Transport Select Committee.

Session 2 “The Policy Challenge” takes in Simon Buck, Chief Executive of the British Air Transport Association and Richard Deakin, who has a similar position at NATS.

Session 3 “Industry Leaders” has Craig Kreeger, CEO of Virgin Atlantic; Andrew Haines, CEO of CAA; and the CEOs of Birmingham, London City and Stansted Airports.

The morning session of day two is taken up with Michael O’Leary of Ryanair, followed by Sir Howard Davies – Chairman, Airports Commission, and then IAG’s Willie Walsh. www.aoa.org.uk
