Gatwick’s new website

Business Travel News does not normally comment on new/revised websites but in the case of Gatwick Airport’s latest offering it has a remarkably different look and feel from the pervious offering, and it is promoting the UK’s second largest airport. (see Airport codes in this issue)

Gatwick says that the end result provides a clean, user-friendly design with improved functionality that has been driven by extensive research and testing with passengers.

The website also offers new features such as ‘pin my flight’ which gives passengers easy access to their flight status as they continue to browse online – and a step-by-step guide to flying out from or into Gatwick.  Passengers will also be able to browse a comprehensive guide on travel to and from the airport.

Around 45% of users viewed the Gatwick site from mobile or tablet devices – including the full spectrum from iPhone to Android and tablets – prompting the strategic decision to create a single website that is optimised for all screen resolutions and devices.
