787 for Aeromexico

Aeromexico has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.  It has a further seven on order and a further six of the larger Dash 9 version.

The airline plans to introduce this on routes that are currently flown by Boeing 767s, including Heathrow where it has a three times per week service. (BTN 7 January)

The Aeromexico Dreamliner features 32 seats with a 180° tilt full flat bed in the Clase Premier Business Class cabin and 211 next generation seats with extra legroom in the Economy cabin.

As with all 787s the aircraft features a Sky Interiors LED lighting and windows that are considerably larger than other aircraft of its type, with high level cabin pressurisation to reduce flying fatigue.  Amongst many innovations is the “Seat Chat” system enabling passengers to communicate with each other wherever they are on the plane.

Initially the aircraft will be used on domestic routes and then used to inaugurate the airline’s Mexico City – Tokyo Narita service on 14 October. www.aeromexico.com
