With the lifting of the second national lockdown in England and as airport passenger traffic builds up towards Christmas, Aspire plans to gradually reopen some of its UK lounges.
The first lounge to reopen is Heathrow Terminal 5 South, anticipated for Saturday (5 December), followed by Edinburgh, Gatwick North and Luton as passenger traffic grows. Belfast City, Birmingham, Manchester Terminal 1 and Newcastle will open as soon as these areas are removed from Tier 3 and passenger traffic allows.
Aspire was the first lounge operator to re-open lounges in the UK following the first nationwide lockdown, and adopted a number of safety measures such as contactless check-in (where possible), full table service, enhanced cleaning regimes (including the application of an electro-static microbe shield on all surfaces) and the withdrawal of newspapers and magazines. To more than compensate, Aspire is now working with PressReader to give free access via the lounge's courtesy wi-fi for customers to read newspapers and magazines from over 120 countries in 60 languages, 18 of which can be instantly translated.
