Kempinski adds new palace

The San Clemente Palace Hotel in the Venice Lagoon has joined the Kempinski family following a management agreement with hotel owner Permak Investments.

The historic property, on a private island 10min by boat from St Mark’s Square, has 190 rooms and suites and is surrounded by more than 17 acres of grounds including monastery buildings and a church dating from the 12th century.

There are six convention rooms for up to 400 people and the whole complex and surrounding can host events for up to 1,200 guests.

Other features include three restaurants and three bars, heated pool, tennis court and a driving range with views of the lagoon, plus a gym and treatment rooms.

Other palace-style properties in the group include the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski in Munich, the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains in St Moritz and the Ciragan Palace Kempinski Istanbul.

Kempinski is Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group with a portfolio of 78 5-star hotels in 33 countries.   www.kempinski.com/venice
