Spanish airline Vueling, part of the International Airlines Group (IAG) that includes British Airways, is introducing a three-times-weekly scheduled service from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL) to its base in Barcelona from next March.
Vueling is the fifth new airline to announce services from Liverpool in 12 months
The service will commence on 27 March, departing on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays and operate year round.
Flights will depart from Liverpool at 14:25 with the return services departing Barcelona at 12:10 on Wednesdays and Fridays. Sunday flights will depart Liverpool at 09:40 and Barcelona at 07:25.
Vueling said the schedule was designed to suit business passengers by offering the opportunity to spend a working week in Barcelona.
The carrier is the largest serving the main Barcelona El Prat Airport and operates almost 300 routes to more than 130 cities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with 90 Airbus 320s.
Andrew Cornish, CEO of Liverpool John Lennon Airport, said: "This further adds to our growing reputation among Europe’s major airlines as a gateway not only to Liverpool but the wider North West market." www.vueling.com/en www.liverpoolairport.com
