Hanoi International Airport

The new terminal 2 at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi is now fully operational and doubles the capacity at the Vietnamese capital.

Also now completed is a six-lane freeway to the city centre via the brand new Nhật Tân Bridge which opened in January of this year.  With the recent lifting of visa restrictions (see BTN 10 August) and Vietnam Airlines introduction of both the Airbus A350XWB and Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 the Communist state is very much ready to welcome visitors.

The gateway’s new wing is designed to handle up to 10m passengers per year in the first phase until 2020, and the 15m expected as a second stage in the years leading up 2030, as demand rises for air travel at home and abroad.

The new terminal has four floors plus a basement with total area of 139,000 sqm including the main building and two wings.  Glass walls give full of natural light and save daytime energy.  It is fully equipped with the latest aviation technology, all to international standards.  www.hanoiairportonline.com
