Air Line attraction

Emirates Airline’s London-based attraction, the Emirates Aviation Experience which provides an insight into the operations and modern achievements of commercial air travel, has reopened its doors to visitors following a significant upgrade of its exhibition and flight simulator features.

The most interesting way to arrive at the enterprise is via the DLR to West Silvertown and the Emirates Air Line across the Thames.  The return can be the same way or the Jubilee Line via O2.

The exhibition's four commercial flight simulators – two Airbus A380s and two Boeing 777s – include an additional eight airports for visitors to test their take-off and landing skills.  First-time flyers can now select from Athens, Boston, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Singapore, Sydney and Vienna airports plus Dubai and Heathrow.  Taking centre stage in the exhibition space is a replica model of the iconic Heathrow Control Tower.  A dramatic video wall has been installed providing a behind-the-scenes look at how routes are planned and controlled on a global basis.

Built into the exterior of the building is a Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine which will power 50 Airbus A380s coming into service next year.  Inside, the engine is stripped back to display its inner workings, accompanied by an interactive display panel, called ‘Under the Skin’.    www.aviation-experience.com
