Nervous passengers

According to a poll of 9,600 nervous passengers by AA Travel Insurance, a third of women said they would take a sedative, anti-anxiety medication or sleeping tablet compared to 24% of men.  Whilst 1 in 4 men drink between 1 and 3 alcoholic beverages before the flight compared to 22% of women.

Former British Airways pilot John Leahy (who is Boeing crew rather than Airbus) says that it is always preferable to treat the underlying cause of any anxiety or phobia rather than employ short-term ways of masking its effects with medication and alcohol.  Simply telling people that flying is by far the safest form of transport just doesn’t work.  It doesn’t help.  However, in-depth ‘knowledge’ of the subject is extremely effective for most people.

Captain Leahy has created ‘Flight Coach’ a downloadable 40-minute Audio or eBook will teach you everything you need to know about flying including choosing the right airline before you even buy your ticket.  It claims to help air travellers unravel the mysteries of flight and dispels many myths and misunderstandings that some almost certainly have.  This knowledge-based therapy has been proven to alleviate most of the common worries associated with flying without the need for medication.  www.flightcoach.com
