Norwegian Air has confirmed Boston as a new Gatwick destination four times weekly starting 13 May. The flights will compete with British Airways and Delta/Virgin out of Heathrow.
Norwegian already serves Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, New York – Kennedy and Orlando, Boston becoming the airline’s fifth US destination.
The flights will be operated by a two-class Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Fares start at £358 return.
Boston has always been a popular destination from the UK, and in fact the nearest major city in the United States. Logan Airport sits in the middle of the harbour and is a short metro ride from downtown. Historically it is interesting (The Tea Party and also Bunker Hill) and is the home of Harvard and also the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum.
The Freedom Trail, which is marked by a red line on the pavement, takes the visitor to 16 historical sites and covers two and a half centuries of America's most significant past. You can take a self-guided tour or one of the many tours available through the National Park Service.
Copley Square is arguably the most pleasant city centre park in the whole of the USA and Martha’s Vineyard and the whole of Massachusetts is on the door step. www.norwegian.com
