Germania is increasing its presence at Gatwick Airport with the addition of a new 215-seat Airbus 321, which will be used for charter business.
The aircraft will enter service in May and will support Germania’s charter services. The Berlin-based scheduled and charter carrier already operates an Airbus 319 out of Gatwick, as well as two further Boeing 737-700s, from Manchester and Norwich.
Germania currently offers scheduled direct flights from Gatwick to Erfurt (Germany), and Pristina (Kosovo). Much of its business is charter operations from Gatwick, Manchester and Norwich on behalf of many of the leading names in the travel industry.
Jerome Newton, Germania’s Director of Sales for the UK, Ireland and France, comments: “We are delighted to have experienced high demand for Germania’s services from air passengers and tour operators, enabling us to increase the number of aircraft we operate from the UK. For example, we recently signed new contracts with two leading partners to offer flights from the UK to international destinations.”
Launched in 1979, Germania is now one of Germany’s longest established airlines. The airline operates a fleet of 24 aircraft – 10 Boeing 737-700s, nine Airbus 319s and five Airbus 321s. www.flygermania.com
