The maiden flight of the Polish Flaris LAR 1 mini-jet is now just weeks away. The tiny four-seat aircraft, which could be a breakthrough in terms of small aircraft design, was first noted by BTN in a Paris Air Show report 8 July 2013.
Two weeks ago the prototype was transferred to the government’s military aviation depot at Bydgoszcz Airport. At this location tests are being undertaken on the automation of the powertrain, the fuel system, hydraulics and navigation aids.
The LAR 1 is claimed to be the world’s first family and business jet manufactured using the latest pre-impregnated carbon technology. The company says that due to innovative solutions, the structure is exceptionally light-weight and very strong.
The little jet might be the way ahead for the smart businessman enthusiast/pilot in the future. It is powered by a single Pratt & Whitney Canada PW615F engine. http://flaris.pl
