Helsinki Airport train station

The long-awaited train connection to Helsinki Airport will open this summer when the Ring Rail Line opens.  It is considered one of the most important service improvements at the airport during the past 15 years.

Train time to Helsinki Central Railway Station will be about 30 minutes.  Passengers coming from the north of Finland on long-distance trains from the north can change trains in Tikkurila Station, just eight minutes from the airport.

The rail link is part of an airport development programme by Finavia to cope with the 20m passengers expected annually by 2020.

The train link will assist Russian passengers in particular as they will be able to take the train all the way from St Petersburg to Helsinki Airport. 

There are direct flights to 130 international destinations from Helsinki.  It is very much a 7/24 operation, particularly with regard to Finnair services to the Far East. 

Later this year the airline becomes the first European operator of the Airbus A350 XWB.  www.helsinki train
