BA combined air-rail ticket

British Airways has combined with Heathrow Express and First Great Western to make travel easier for customers in Wales and the West of England.  A single booking will now join together the airline and the train companies.  Passengers can book from 5 December through travel agents for travel from 11 First Great Western stations.
The idea of the combined booking is to take away the stress and fear of missing a flight.  If a train is delayed or a connection missed customers can take the next available flight – and even get overnight accommodation if the next service is not on the same day. If the flight is delayed it works the other way.  Customers can get on the next available train service.

Keith Greenfield, Managing Director of Heathrow Express, said: "This partnership removes a layer of hassle for customers and affords them extra protection against possible problems. This kind of joined-up travel is what today's leisure and business travellers expect."

First introduced by Singapore Airlines last year BTN view this move as an interesting concept that clearly is moving forward. www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk    https://www.heathrowexpress.com
