No Gatwick trains to London Bridge

London Bridge Station has no First Capital Connect or Southern trains until Monday 1 September.

Travellers used to that route to Gatwick Airport will need to plan their journey to Blackfriars, which has only the District/Circle Line Underground services, but nothing north to south.  Elephant and Castle, south of the river,  offers both Bakerloo and Northern line services.  However it can be reached by pedestrians from both banks of the Thames.   Via Blackfriars journey times will be extended by up to 15 minutes.

The closure is the latest milestone in the rebuilding of London Bridge as part of the Thameslink Programme.

When the station reopens to Southern and First Capital Connect trains the timetable will still be altered.  A handful of rush hour trains will terminate at South Bermondsey rather than running all the way to London Bridge.
