Hand baggage and BA

British Airways has extended its hand baggage only fares to include all short haul flights from Gatwick, Heathrow and London City airports and in all fare classes.

The airline first introduced the option which sees fares typically £20 cheaper for a return ticket or £10 less for a single – on some flights from Gatwick in September 2013 (see BTN 16 September 2013) having already introduced it at London City (see BTN 18 March 2013)

Passengers choosing the hand baggage-only fare can carry on a case measuring up to 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, plus a handbag or laptop bag.  There is a limit of 23 kgs, but it would take an exceptionally loaded bag to each this figure.
