A Statement from the Editor in Chief

Welcome to Business Travel News now back under its original management.  If you are a new reader hello.  Please sign up for your FREE email edition.  BTN is published every Monday morning.  It is possible with the changeover that some links/features are not working.  These will be corrected over the next few days.  The Archive does not work from 27 January 2014.  The missing issues will be added as soon as possible.

We have some housekeeping.

Any enquiries now to malcolm@ginsberg.co.uk.  If you have emailed BTN in recent times and not received a reply, some have gone astray, so please resend.

To enable you to receive BTN it is important that you put newsletter@btnews.co.uk on your contact list and/or your ‘white list’.  If after having followed the above and you are not receiving the newsletter you could subscribe to a Hotmail account or similar.

We are looking for commercial support, and potential advertisers should note that we are distributing 46k copies this week, and it is read by all the right people.  100k page views every week, worldwide.

Nothing has changed in our quest to bring you the latest travel news, whether by land, sea or air, but at the same time offering an interesting read.  We will COMMENT where necessary, perhaps upsetting a few.

This being the first Monday of the month we normally lead with ON THE SOAPBOX.  However we think there is enough reading for you.  Shannon Hyland, President and CEO of Radius Travel will be next week.

Readers will notice that we have resurrected the original format, but without photographs.  It is the news that people want, but images are useful, particularly when it comes to people who you might want to recognise at some point.  Therefore we have not dropped the pictures entirely and they are being retained for stories but only on the full web edition (ie by clicking through from the Home page).  We are also using larger photos, to suit the story (PRs please note – but still low res).  Where people are concerned and also with interesting topics we will also offer more than one image if appropriate.  (See Flybe management changes and Accor expansion)
