Sukhoi Superjet – First year

A year ago, on 23 January 2013, Yakutia Airlines performed its first commercial flight of a Sukhoi Superjet 100 from its base airport in Yakutsk (250 miles south of the Artic Circle in North East of Russia), thus starting operations fo this new aircraft type.
 
From its first commercial flight from Yakutsk to Khabarovsk with passengers on board, the amount of flight hours of two SSJ100 aircraft in the air fleet of Yakutia Airlines has reached 2,660 hours for 1,084 flights.
 
“Yakutia Airlines, which is the largest air carrier in the Russian Far East, is one of the unique customers of Sukhoi Superjet 100.  This aircraft is being successfully operated by the airline even during severe Yakutia winter, when the temperatures can fall below 50 degrees," says Andrey Kalinovsky, the President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company.  “Yakutia consistently demonstrates high figures of Sukhoi Superjet 100 operations in different environmental conditions, which confirms the announced performance characteristics of our aircraft".
 
Yakutia Airlines has two Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft in operation.

Better known for its supersonic fighter aircraft Sukhoi has delivered 28 of the regional jet to date.  Orders stand at 284.  www.sukhoi.superjet100.com
