A350 XWB show début

Airbus A350 XWB MSN 003, a series 900 aircraft, will return from high altitude test flights in South America, to take centre stage at the Singapore Airshow 11-12 February.  It will be the first full air show display for the newest wide body from Airbus.

The aircraft will be in the static park and also take part in the flying display on both days.

Current firm orders for the A350 stand at 814 with an in-service date suggested for the fourth quarter of 2014 with launch customer Qatar Airways.

The A350-900 is the first A350 model and seats 314 passengers in a three-class nine-abreast cabin layout.  It has a standard design range target of 15,000km (8,100nm).  Next up is the A350-1000 and this is the largest variant of the A350 family seating 350 passengers in a three-class nine-abreast cabin layout.  It has a range of 15,600 km (8,400 nm) and is designed to compete with the Boeing 777-300ER replacing the Airbus A340-600.  The slow selling A350-800 will seat 270 passengers in a three-class nine-abreast layout with much the same range.  The A350 is expected to be the star of Farnborough in July with a fully kitted passenger aircraft version probably in Qatar Airways colours, the lead customer.  www.airbus.com
