Crowne Plaza Barcelona

InterContinental Hotels Group has signed a franchise agreement with Hotel Fira S.A.U to introduce the Crowne Plaza brand to Barcelona.  The Crowne Plaza Barcelona Fira Center will open during the first quarter of this year.

Occupying a prime location in the city centre, the hotel is less than 100 metres away from the Fira Barcelona Convention Center next to Plaza Espana Square, one of Barcelona’s most renowned public spaces.  It has excellent train and airport transportation links which cement its appeal to both corporate and leisure travellers.

With 3,000m2 of meeting space, the hotel will have the largest conference and meeting facilities across the entire portfolio of Crowne Plaza properties in Europe.  It will be converted from an existing building to a 276-room hotel complete with a new Wellness Centre, a fitness room and a VIP club lounge.

There are currently 82 Crowne Plaza properties in Europe with a further 12 in the pipeline due to open in the next three to five years.  www.crowneplaza.com
