London Paddington upgrade

Heathrow Express users will be pleased to learn that works to improve Paddington Station have been completed ahead of schedule.  For the future it will become a major Crossrail interchange with quick access to Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon and eastward.

The works included the installation of lifts giving customers step free access from the new ticket hall to the Circle and Hammersmith & City line platforms.  The Underground now boasts a new entrance from the Paddington Basin side of the station, a spacious new ticket hall, better access to the mainline concourse, two new stairways, improved CCTV, and extended platforms to accommodate new and longer air-conditioned trains.

Nearby, the Edgware Road station on the Bakerloo line has also reopened following lift replacement works. www.tfl.gov.uk
