Delta goes Virgin

Virgin Atlantic passengers in the award winning Clubhouse at Heathrow’s Terminal 3 will be joined by partner Delta Air Lines customers from the start of the summer season.

With the introduction of its new daily Seattle service on 30 March, Delta will move into the central area from that date for not only the Washington State route but also New York Kennedy and Boston.  The airlines say that by combining their slots they can offer maximum customer convenience, particularly for business travellers.

“We already co-locate together at New York’s JFK airport and moving some of Delta’s key business flights to join Virgin Atlantic at Heathrow’s Terminal 3 will enhance convenience, and reduce connection times.  This demonstrates how our new partnership is going to be making a real difference for customers”, said Craig Kreeger, Virgin Atlantic’s CEO.

Virgin Atlantic VS1 Heathrow to Newark service goes from a late afternoon to a morning departure allowing for ‘same-day meetings’ to be held in the New Jersey area.  The service is part of nine daily flights between Heathrow and the New York area by the joint venture partners.  From New York JFK to London the new schedule includes departures every 30 minutes during the early evening peak and then hourly until 22:30. www.delta.com   www.virgin-atlantic.com
