Heathrow T2 first new lounge

The race to announce the first executive operation lounge at the new Heathrow T2 has been won by Plaza Premium Lounge Management who opened its first lounge at Kai Tak Hong Kong in 1998 and now has 30 worldwide.

Airside Plaza Premium will feature a live cooking station serving made-to-order dishes, a daily tapas selection, a champagne bar and an a-la-carte menu with ‘guest recipes’ by British celebrity chefs.  The design will also feature an organic airport spa with a treatment menu designed to tackle travel fatigue and relax busy passengers.

Heathrow Airport Ltd has still to announce other lounge providers including individual airlines but with Star Alliance dominating the terminal clearly its existing facility in Terminal 1 will transfer across next June.

Also now signed up is another new face for Heathrow, The Gorgeous Kitchen featuring celebrity chefs Gee Charman (Kensington Palace), Sophie Michell (Pont St at Belgravia), Jo Pratt (best-selling author of 'In the mood for food') and Caroline Mi Li Artiss (of YouTube fame).
