Aberdeen to Riga

Latvian airline airBaltic is to launch a Riga – Aberdeen service on 30 March 2014.  The new route will offer convenient connections between the two cities and beyond to destinations in the Baltic region, Scandinavia, Russia and the CIS countries.

Michael Grimme, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic, said: “Every month, airBaltic has been achieving consistently good results.  This means we can now bring it back to our customers by offering affordable tickets and new destinations.  We are now making the necessary preparations for a new Aberdeen – Riga route to offer excellent connections via Riga to and from destinations such as Baku, Moscow, St Petersburg, Warsaw, Kiev, Odessa”.

A Boeing 737 will operate the route four days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.  Flight time is around 2hrs 40mins.

airBaltic is currently State-owned and plans to replace its current mixed Boeing 737 fleet with 148-seat Bombardier CS300s from 2015 onwards.  It also flies the Q400 regionally. www.airbaltic.com
