Manila to Heathrow

Following the lifting of the safety ban by the European Union, Philippine Airlines is expected to return to Europe later in the year.  Confirmation by the airline has yet to be established but reports from Manila suggest a Heathrow start-up on 4 November ending an absence of 15 years.  The UK sales agents are Aviareps.

A Boeing two-class Boeing 777-300ER will probably be used on the service with a flight time of around 14 hours making it possibly the longest scheduled flight out of the London airport.  The airline is non-aligned and T4 could be its Heathrow home.

The ban was lifted in July.  At that time Ramon S Ang, resident and Chief Operating Officer of the airline, noted that besides London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid and Rome were destination targets for the airline.  The Heathrow news will be welcomed by the large expatriate Phillipines community in Europe with other routes expected to follow. www.philippineairlines.com
