WTTC summit for Tony Blair

Tony Blair, the former British Prime Minister, will address the World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Asia Summit in Seoul (Korea), next week (Tuesday/Wednesday 9/10 September).  The timing may be opportune for Mr Blair to comment on how the tourism industry should deal with war threats.  He will reflect on the social and economic contribution of industry as a driver of jobs and economic prosperity.

David Scowsill, President and CEO, WTTC, said: “It will be our honour to welcome Tony Blair to address the WTTC Asia Summit.  He is one of the world’s leading international statesmen with an unrivalled knowledge of geo-political affairs.  It will be fascinating to hear his first-hand experience on the economic and social contribution of our industry, and how we can better make our case for investment with governments around the world”.

Mr Blair will be followed by a whole assembly of senior travel industry figures.  The BBC’s Nick Ross will act as anchor with session moderators including Christopher Rodrigues, Chairman, Visit Britain; Peter Greenberg, Travel Editor, CBS; and Peter Harbison, Executive Chairman, Centre for Aviation. www.wttc.org
