Luanda A330

Iberia’s Madrid – Luanda service is the airline's first route to become totally Airbus A330-300s.  The wide-bodied, long haul aircraft will be used to connect the capital cities of Spain and Angola twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.  They are 15% more fuel-efficient than the A340s they replace.

The 36 Business Plus seats of the A330-300s unfold into flat beds nearly two metres long in pods with direct access to the aisle, for greater comfort and privacy.  Ambient lighting changes with each phase of the flight, and there is more space near seats for passengers to store their belongings.

The use of the larger Airbus A330-300s signifies an 11% increase in the number of seats on the Madrid – Luanda route, effective in the second half of 2013.  The route, inaugurated in October 2011, registered a 36.6% increase in passenger traffic in the first half of this year, compared with the same period of 2012.  Flight times allow for easy connections to/from Iberia’s other 31 destinations in Spain, 27 elsewhere in Europe, 19 in the Americas, and Tel Aviv, from its T4 hub in Madrid-Barajas airport.

The cities supplying the most Madrid – Luanda passengers are Lisbon, Oporto, London, Paris, Barcelona, Rome and Bilbao, in that order. www.iberia.com
