Jersey gains more easyJet

easyJet is gradually revealing its plans for the 25 pairs of slots it has procured from Flybe effective 30 March 2014.

First it was Inverness, the airline turning the three times daily service into two but actually offering more seats and a quicker operation using A319s jets rather than the slower Q400 turboprop.

Now Jersey has been revealed.  The Luton-based airline will operate three daily return flights between Gatwick and Jersey, head to head with British Airways with four, 156 seats v 132 both with the Airbus A319.

It will be easyJet’s fifth UK to Jersey route, the airline also operating from Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle and Southend.

Ali Gayward, Easyjet’s UK Commercial Manager. puts a Jersey emphasis into a statement: “The new early flight will allow business travellers to reach London in time for meetings while the evening departure enables them to travel home on the same day.  The introduction of low-cost seats will also help to boost tourism to Jersey”. www.easyjet.com
