Hong Kong to New York

Cathay Pacific is to launch a daily route between Hong Kong and New York Newark on 1 March next year.  It will complement the airline’s four times daily service to JFK.  Flight time is around 16 hours.

Tom Owen, the airline's Senior Vice President, Americas, said: "The introduction of Cathay Pacific's Newark to Hong Kong service demonstrates our commitment to the New York Metropolitan area, which has been instrumental in the development of our North American operations.

"We are dedicated to offering even more choice and flexibility for Tri-state residents, and we constantly raise the bar on our passengers' experience through impeccable service, superior in-flight amenities and products".

Newark will become Cathay Pacific's fifth gateway into the US, and seventh in North America.  The airline currently serves Chicago, Los Angeles, New York (JFK), San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver.  Cathay Pacific recently unveiled an improved First Class.  (See BTN 5 August) www.cathaypacific.com
