Gatwick continues apace with new retail store openings, with the latest arrival jewellery boutique Swarovski partnering Harrods at the south London airport.
Head of Sales North and Eastern Europe Travel Retail, Daniel Swarovski Corp AG, Dmitry Schipakov, said: “A feature, perfectly matching the Uniquely Harrods motto, is the open showcase presentation. What started as an accident at Heathrow Terminal 3 has become a new and interesting approach. By removing the glass cabinet doors we want to encourage and allow our customers to touch and feel Swarovski jewellery, reaching out to new consumers through the magic of crystal sparkle never being so close and alive.”
The Harrods store is an anchor development of the new retail line-up currently taking shape in the revamped International Departures Lounge at the South Terminal.
At the present time there are around 30 stores in the shopping concourse offering a vast range of products from food (Caviar House), through electronics (Dixons) and of course a wide range of wines, spirits, tobacco and fragrances. (See BTN 26 November 2012)
