Barcelona for Hilton Doubletree

The fast growing DoubleTree by Hilton brand which now has more than 350 hotels worldwide, has signed a deal for its fourth property in Spain that will mark its arrival in Barcelona and become the third Hilton Worldwide hotel in the city.

The announcement continues a trend of the brand entering prime locations in key European destinations, including recent deals in Dublin, Edinburgh and Lisbon.

For regular visitors to Spain’s thriving second city the change of name will have little effect.  Currently the Alexandra Barcelona Hotel in the centre of the city on Carrer de Mallorca, the new title will be Alexandra Barcelona – a DoubleTree by Hilton from early 2014.

The hotel currently offers 116 guest rooms, three meeting rooms, a restaurant and a fitness centre.  As part of the upgrade to the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, the hotel will be adding a complimentary 24-hour connectivity zone, as well as including characteristic brand features such as the DoubleTree by Hilton signature chocolate chip cookie welcome, an array of upscale amenities and guest services, and the ability to earn and redeem points with the Hilton guest loyalty programme. http://doubletree3.hilton.com
