The Food Quarter

Manchester Airport has officially opened what it calls ‘The Food Quarter’ in Terminal 1, as used by easyJet, Aer Lingus and Turkish Airlines amongst others.

Operated by SSP (formerly Compass), The Food Quarter has a selection of dining outlets and a street food pop-up offering for passengers to partake before their flight.

The pop-up concessions will vary according to the seasons, currently ice cream vendor Ginger's Comfort Emporium.  Upper Crust and The Pasty Shop are also available.  The new openings follow the successful debut of The Grain Loft bar, which was designed to reflect the character of north-west Britain, offering food and drink renowned in that region.

Beth Brewster, Retail Director of Manchester Airport, said: “We’re really excited about the new Food Quarter, which we know will be very popular with our passengers.  Terminal 1 can now offer travellers an even greater mix of food, so from locally produced beers, award winning ice-cream, and now delicious Mexican goodies there’s something for everyone”. www.manchesterairport.co.uk
