American visas

Travellers worldwide who require visas for entry into the United States (and do not meet the ESTA requirement) should be aware that a new application scheme is being introduced from 26 July 2013.

For the United Kingdom, the US Embassy in London and the Consulate General in Belfast are both transitioning to this improved information and appointment system, which includes a free online appointment booking service for non-immigrant visa applicants.

With the new service visa applicants can pay the application fee and schedule a non-immigrant visa appointment online at one of two websites, or contact the call centre (callers from within the United Kingdom should dial 09042 450100 which is charged at £1.23/min plus network extras).  The websites and the call centre are the official sources of general visa information from the US Embassy and the only authorised methods to schedule a personal visa interview. https://uk.usembassy.gov http://usvisa-info.com
