New Zealand 787 plans

Air New Zealand has confirmed that its new fleet of 10 Boeing 787-9 aircraft will operate on routes to Honolulu, Papeete, Perth, Shanghai and Tokyo.

The Auckland-based airline is the launch customer for the Dash 9 version of the aircraft.  With 280 seats in a typical three-class layout it has the longest range of the Dreamliner series with 355 of the total 787 order book.  First deliveries will be before the end of the year.

The Business Premier cabin will feature Air New Zealand’s signature chalk coloured luxurious leather armchair which converts to an indulgent lie-flat bed complete with memory foam mattress, cosy duvet and two full size pillows.

In the Premium Economy cabin the seat will have a 41” pitch, a generous 5” wide armrest and a leg rest and extendable foot support which will allow passengers to really stretch out and relax.  Economy will features 16 rows of ANZ unique and highly popular Skycouch, three seats that convert into a sofa. www.airnewzealand.co.uk
