Virgin video all the way

It is going to be very popular with passengers accompanied by children and for those who find that the film has not quite finished as the plane is about to touch down.  Virgin Atlantic has announced that passengers can now turn on their in-flight entertainment systems prior to take-off and leave it on during landing.

Up until now in-flight entertainment systems on board Virgin Atlantic aircraft were turned on 25 minutes after taking off and had to be switched off 40 minutes before landing but this new service allows passengers to watch movies once the safety demonstration is completed.  If you take the taxi time in, and also possible ‘holding’ whilst in the air, the new arrangement gives up to two hours extra watching.

During taxi, take-off and landing, only the free headsets provided by Virgin Atlantic may be worn but once in the air, passengers are able to use their own listening devices.

One word of warning.  You will not be allowed to sit in your seat once the aircraft reaches the gate.  The entertainment system will be switched off!  Virgin says sorry.  www.virgin-atlantic.com
