Qantas into Dubai

Dubai Airport has a second tenant in its brand new futuristic Concourse A.  Qantas has joined its new partner Emirates in the massive half mile long building.  The airline has daily flights to and from London to both Melbourne and Sydney.

Qantas travellers are well looked after under the new arrangements and also gain from the airline’s decision to continue with oneworld “a great airline alliance in which we very much will be staying with,” said CEO Alan Joyce at a briefing.  All the oneworld benefits continue.

With the arrangement in place eligible Qantas travellers gain lounge entry into either airline’s network in Australia, Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.  New for Qantas is a Chauffeur Drive for Business and First Class passengers on flights (matching Emirates’ existing service).  They can redeem existing Qantas Frequent Flyer points for flights on 175 destinations worldwide.  Qantas Economy checked baggage allowance harmonises with Emirates and goes up from 23kg to 30kg.

At Dubai the Business Class floor in Concourse A offers spa and bathroom facilities, private meeting rooms and courtesy business facilities, plus dining and a full bar just by the gate.  Go down in the elevator and the huge Duty Free is available. www.qantas.com
