Manston to the World

The most south easterly part of the United Kingdom, now has a direct link to the rest of the world.  Last week KLM introduced a twice daily service from Manston airport (MSE) to Amsterdam with access to 190 destinations worldwide.

Manston, the traditional name from its days as a major RAF airfield and relief airport for London, is situated just outside the small harbour resort of Ramsgate, and is 13 miles from Canterbury and 20 miles from Dover.  It is less than 1hr 20mins by Javelin train from St Pancras.

An 09:15 departure from Amsterdam should provide for good incoming international connections.

Henri Hourcade, General Manager UK & Ireland, Air France KLM, said at the launch: “The new route from Manston offers passengers in Kent and the South East of England twice daily flights to a key business location, as well as an important connection to a host of worldwide destinations.  This is an exciting new chapter in KLM’s long history with the UK and we have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from the local community.  Forward bookings look good and we anticipate this service going from strength-to-strength as we become established in Kent”. www.klm.com www.manstonairport.com
