Airports add free wi-fi

Stansted and Aberdeen International have become the latest UK airports to introduce a free wi-fi service in their terminals in order to improve the passenger experience.

Stansted Airport owner Manchester Airports Group (MAG) says that it is available free for 60 minutes following a simple one-off registration process.

Terminal Manager, Neil Banks, said: “We live in a modern mobile world where accessing the internet on smart phones, tablets and laptops is now a daily routine.  As part of our drive to improve services for passengers we’re delighted to offer one hour free wi-fi throughout the terminal, enabling customers to get those last minute emails, conference calls and social media updates done before taking flight".

“The new service will also be particularly convenient for UK residents not on 3G or 4G mobile contracts and for overseas visitors who would otherwise incur expensive roaming costs".

With Aberdeen no registration is necessary and it is available to passengers in all public areas of the main terminal building, both before and after security.  The unlimited service is being run in partnership with BT. www.stanstedairport.com www.aberdeenairport.com
