David McMillan is now Chair of the Flight Safety Foundation
Regulars to the Aviation Club on 24 April should be in for an interesting time with the speaker David McMillan, now Chair of the Flight Safety Foundation, but formerly Director of Eurocontrol (2008-2012). Held at the Institute of Directors, Pall Mall, London, the luncheon coincides with the Club’s AGM.
As a career civil servant David has always been interested in commercial aviation and was Transport Secretary at the British Embassy in Washington at the time that the UK-USA (and subsequently Europe) bilateral was up for negotiation. His roles in the Department for Transport (DfT) have included heading the division responsible for air traffic control policy (1998-2001), Director of Strategy and Delivery (2002-2004) and Director General of Civil Aviation (2004-2007).
Hopefully members will hear just what is happening with the European Single Sky.
