Having opened 11 hotels in the UK in the last two years, Doubletree by Hilton has reached agreement on additional sites in Bristol, Edinburgh and Nottingham.
The announcement begins a landmark year, which will see it open five new hotels in 2013, making a total of 25 in operation across the UK. It only made its British debut in 2008 with the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge.
DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre will become the brand’s first hotel in the Scottish capital. The 139-guestroom property is located in the city’s historic old town. Formerly the Point Hotel it has a brasserie style restaurant, stylish bar and top floor penthouse offering spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle.
At Bristol the DoubleTree was previously a Jarvis and is expected to open this spring after a major refurbishment. It offers 201 guestrooms over six storeys and is a quarter of a mile from Bristol Temple Meads station.
DoubleTree by Hilton Nottingham Gateway is located on the A610 linking Nottingham to the M1. Under its former guise as The Nottingham Gateway Hotel the site is an established meetings and events venue. It has 106 guestrooms. Renovation work will start shortly including a new swimming pool. http://doubletree.hilton.com
