From next September, Flybe will offer up to 16 flights daily between Birmingham and the two major Scottish lowland airports, Edinburgh and Glasgow. With a weekdaily frequency of eight flights the route becomes a virtual shuttle. The airline also flies twice daily between Birmingham and Aberdeen.
Business travellers in particular will benefit from the added choice and flexibility that Flybe’s high-frequency services now offer: for example, there are three conveniently timed weekday flights leaving Edinburgh for Birmingham before 09:00; whilst northbound they have the choice of up to four weekday flights leaving Birmingham after 16:00.
Embraer E series jets are used on all the routes with three booking classes ‘Essentials’, ‘New Economy’ and ‘Plus’. Flight time is around 1hr 15mins against a road journey of around 300 miles for both city pairs. www.flybe.com
