The Hotel Indigo Barcelona Plaza Catalunya has opened its doors.  The hotel will mark the debut of InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) boutique brand in Spain.  The new property has just 77 individually designed bedrooms.  There is free wi-fi and likewise a courtesy mini-bar available to all hotel guests filled with a variety of snacks and drinks.

The Plaza Catalunya is located in Barcelona’s central Eixample District, in the midst of the city’s magnificent architectural features including Gaudi’s extraordinary monuments, the Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell and Casa Batlló.  It is situated just a few minutes’ walk from Plaza Catalunya metro and train station.

Diego Alvarez, IHG’s Director of Hotel Performance Support, Southern Europe said: “We’re excited to be bringing IHG’s boutique hotel brand to Spain for the first time.  We currently have 10 properties in Europe and we plan to open a further 14 Hotel Indigos in the region in the next three to five years”. www.ihg.com
