El Al goes Economy Plus

Following the success of Economy Class Plus on its Boeing 747, as evidenced by increased demand and high customer satisfaction, El Al is to introduce the class to the airline’s 767s as well.  These aircraft are mainly flown on the Bangkok, Beijing, Johannesburg, Mumbai and Toronto routes, although Luton will see the plane this summer.

The upgrade will include a general renovation of the cabin, a modern colourful lighting system and flat-screen overhead monitors for the enjoyment of all passengers.  The wash room facilities will also be upgraded.  The Economy Class includes extra legroom (91.5cm instead of 81.3cm) and 33% greater recline; designated check-in counters and an individual entertainment system – a state-of-the-art iPad with a selection of films, TV programmes, games and music.

London’s Luton Airport will offer 11 flights per week to Tel Aviv during the peak summer season, the same number as Heathrow.  With British Airways now only flying narrow bodied aircraft on the route El Al is the only carrier offering First Class to Israel. www.elal.co.il
