Moscow Vnukovo and Transaero

Transaero is moving a whole bunch of services at Domodedovo to Vnukovo with the start of the summer season.  These include Frankfurt, Heathrow and New York JFK.  This means all Transaero’s North America services will be operating from Vnukovo with flights to Los Angeles, Miami and Toronto already established.

Whilst third in terms of passenger numbers (10m approx annually to date), and also with rail connections to the city centre, Vnukovo is Moscow’s longest established airport, and has a better weather record than Domodedovo (oneworld) and Sheremetyevo (Aeroflot and Skyteam).  It is 17 miles from the centre of the city.

Owned by Moscow City, Vnukovo is in the process of a major upgrade which includes lengthening of its two 3000m plus runways and a totally new terminal building. http://vnukovo.ru/eng/for-passengers/schem/arrive www.transaero.com
