Newquay wins Liverpool & London

easyJet, now Britain’s largest airline, has announced it will serve Newquay – Cornwall for the first time from next June, with flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and Southend, with three times weekly services.

“The announcement that easyJet is to fly into Newquay Airport next year is really good news as our Classic Air Force project at the Aerohub gets under way”, said Amanda Blair, Marketing and Commercial Manager of the new visitor attraction at the airport.  “easyJet’s Airbus aircraft will be sharing the runway with our own Dragon Rapides and DC3s.  The airline is to be congratulated in establishing new routes into the airport from both Liverpool and London.  It really is good news for Cornwall”.

Last August Classic Air Force announced that it was relocating its Airbase operation from Coventry Airport to Newquay with a planned opening date at the end of March 2013.  Included in the move is the world’s oldest operational twin jet powered aircraft, a Gloster Meteor T7.  Classic Air Force has taken over the former RAF Nimrod hangar, one of the largest in the country. www.easyjet.com  www.classicairforce.com
