Heathrow BA which terminal?

Readers should be aware that, following the bmi takeover, British Airways now operates from Heathrow terminals 1, 3 and 5 with a consolidation not likely until the opening of T2 in 2014 when there are likely to be some major changes including United moving all its services into the new facility.  Presently the former Continental routes are still in T4 with BusinessFirst passengers using Skyteam rather than Star facilities.

Check before setting out.  It is a long way from T1 to T5.

Here are some of the more important changes now operational.

The logic of it all we are not sure about but one reason for the Tel Aviv move could be that whilst the route has increased in frequency it is no longer served by wide bodied aircraft, only used by BA in T5.  El Al also flies from T1, which might be a consideration.

  • Alicante, Monrovia and Seoul operate from T5.
  • Leeds Bradford, Rotterdam and Zagreb are at T1.
  • Agadir, Bergen, Freetown and Stavanger have moved from T1 to T5.
  • Dusseldorf, Luxembourg, Lyon and Toulouse are now in Terminal 1.
  • Tel Aviv is in T1 and Cairo follows 4 January.
  • Almaty, Amman, Baku, Beirut, Belfast City, Dublin, Hanover and Tbilisi remain in T1.
  • Gibraltar flights will stay in T3
  • Cape Town and Riyadh continue in T5 with arrivals now in the morning.
  • Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Manchester will be consolidated in Terminal 5
  • Bologna, Oslo and Zurich flights stay in T5.
  • Marseille is an arrival from Gatwick in T1.

British Airways serves in total 16 destinations from T1 with 40 departures daily.  www.ba.com
