A £1.7m international arrivals lounge has opened at George Best Belfast City Airport, providing improved facilities for both passengers and statutory agencies.
The new lounge will enhance passenger capacity at the airport and allow agents to easily process international passengers when Aer Lingus begin flights to and from Palma, Malaga and Faro in March 2013.
Brian Ambrose, Chief Executive of Belfast City Airport, said: “Next year will mark the airport’s 30th anniversary and with our long term partners flybe and Manx2, and new arrivals in British Airways and Aer Lingus, 2013 looks set to be an incredible year”.
“The new arrivals facilities are the latest considerable outlay by our owners who have invested £15m in the improving airport infrastructure over the last four years. We now serve 26 destinations with 17 daily flights to London and are now the sole link to Heathrow from Belfast. We now have an airport that we hope exceeds the expectations of our passengers”.
