German expansion for Ryanair

Budapest cutback

Ryanair is to introduce Dortmund and Nuremburg as its 11th and 12th German bases next March.

From Dortmund the services are Alghero, Faro, Girona (Barcelona), Malaga, Palma and Porto.

New flights from Nuremburg include London, which airberlin is stopping from Gatwick in the first week of the New Year.

Whilst not noted on the press release some detective work by Business Travel News indicates that for London read Stansted.  Introduced are services to/from Alicante, Cagliari, Malaga, Pisa and Porto, in total 20 weekly flights.

Also new from Nuremburg for 2013 is a twice daily (single flights at the weekend) Air France/CityJet service to and from London City.

Ryanair is cutting back by about one-third for the balance of the winter at Budapest with the services to Baden Baden, Dusseldorf and Munich (Germany), Birmingham (UK) and Malaga (Spain) purged.

The current Ryanair fleet stands at around 300 Boeing 737-800s, with a number not operational. www.ryanair.com
